Q. My family member has passed away and I want to put my name/ whanau trust under their shares.
A. Contact the Maori Land Court to succeed to these shares and once you have done this the Tenths receives the succession in the mail from the Maori Land Court and then we update our records.



Q. I have my bank account and IRD number can I give it to you over the phone?
A. No we prefer you post, email or fax these to us so we have a record of your details.



Q. Why have I not received my dividends?
A. This usually happens if we do not have an updated postal address so it is really important that all owners provide us with this information.



Q. How do we put our shares in a Whanau Trust?
A. The Maori Land Court must approve this transfer.



Q. My Name on the database is not correct, how do I change this?
A. You must go to the Maori Land Court and fill in a ‘Name Application form’.


Q. What are my shares worth?
A. The value of shares is noted in the Annual Report for both Trusts. Click here to read a paper that has been prepared about Buying and Selling Shares.


Q. As an owner in the Trust is there an Education Grant available for our tamariki?
A. Neither Trusts currently have the capacity to provide Education Grants. However visit the GenerosityNZ site at your local library.



Q. Can we sell or buy shares?
A. Yes you can but you must put in an application at the Maori Land Court.

 

Q. Is Wellington Tenths Trust and Palmerston North Maori Reserves one in the same as Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust (PNBST)?
A.
No we are separate entities, if you need to contact PNBST please call them on 0800 767 8642.
